Within the
United States of America lies a large industrial city that is the sight of one
of the world’s largest slave labor camps.
Located in
and around the center of this city are community settlements where the slaves
live.
Each
morning the slaves move herd-like from their quarters into the slave labor
camps.
Each slave
is at his or her work-station by 7:30AM. Here they report to their master for
the day’s duties. And here they remain chained until 5:00PM when they’re
released to go home.
The slaves
have no choice as to how many hours they must labor. Sometimes they are
required to work overtime until their master tells them they may leave and go
home.
Each year
the slaves are told when to take their vacations, for how long and when they
must return.
They have
little choice as to how much money they earn as they are paid not what they are
worth, but what the job is worth.
They are
allowed very little time for lunch and coffee breaks during the labor hours.
The slaves
will remain in their chains in great fear because the master can punish them
with the “firing” or “layoff” whip.
It is said
that even some of the older slaves who have been good and faithful have felt
the sting of the whip.
Day by day,
year-by-year, the slaves toil and grow older until the master decides it is
time to release them to the retirement camps where they’re forced to sit idle
and wait for death.
It’s a
well-known fact that the old slaves who try to keep working are sometimes
whipped with a “stop-their pension” whip.
I know
these slave camps exist for I once was a slave.
But now I
am a free man who lives among the slaves.
The reason
I am free is because I am in business for myself as a Network Marketer.
Yes, I am
truly free!
I arise in
the morning called for by my schedule!
I decide my
own hours!
I can even
sleep in late while the slaves are at work!
I can
vacation when, where, and for how long I please!
I’m free to
take my coffee break and lunch when I decide!
And of course,
I can decide my own paycheck because I am not a slave!
I can
choose to work when and where I please and with whom I please.
I’m free to
stay in the city for as long as I want, or to move on to greener pastures if I
decide to!
I’ve seen
many slaves sadly pack their belongings to leave their city in search of a new
master, but it is always the same.
There is
however, a ray of hope for the slave.
He or she
can buy their own freedom.
The cost is
not high, yet it seems high to those who do not have the courage to pay the
price.
What is the
price?
The price
is that one must be willing to be one’s own master.

The System is Your Savior, not the products or the company
Most people, even the
moderately successful ones in Network Marketing, don't have a system. It's because they built a network based upon
their sales talents, or because they give great meetings, or simply their sheer
strength of personality
What these people do
works. It just doesn't duplicate. They work hard and mean well, but the average
person cannot duplicate what they are doing to build their business.
People who duplicate
use a system. They have a step-by-step
process for how to approach people, what marketing materials to use, how to
enroll people, train them, etc.
A system gives you
security, it helps you build depth faster, and most importantly, it allows you
to leverage your time and talents for maximum effect. It gives you the opportunity to bring in people
who can replace you quickly
The true success of
your business comes from training other people to replace yourself. And then teach them how to teach their people
the same thing. This is when you can get
some tremendous exponential growth taking place.
The secret of a
system is that every stage of the business building process is spelled
out. So anyone who joins the network can
follow the same successful process that brought him or her in, instead of having
to go through a trial and error scenario.
This also makes the
business work for people who are not natural sales types, and have fear of rejection. In other words, it is more duplicable for
more people.
Having an effective
system is so important. Systems ARE duplicatable because they level the playing
field for everyone. People don’t join a company; they join you, which mean you
will have a massive impact on your sponsoring success. In the end, when it
comes to MARKETING a business opportunity, your results will eventually fall
onto your shoulders…
Your system should
completely delineate and spell out the entire process that a distributor will
follow from where to find prospects, how to approach them, how to sponsor them,
and how to train them to reach the higher advancement ranks. Each stage in this process should be written
down somewhere, and taught to the distributor at the appropriate time.
Do you have personal
value to offer this new person? Are you a leader? Will they gain power by
associating with you? Do you have an effective system in place that everyone
who joins you or your team will follows, regardless of their geographical
location, gender, race or age?
Do you have a system
that teaches people how to promote, follow up, build a customer base, recruit,
launch a new Team member, start a 90 day plan etc…
Your ability to get a
large group of people to do a few simple things consistently over an extended
period of time is the formula for financial independence in network marketing

So why is skill development the foundation of network marketing success?

Don't you often feel like

closer but you can never quite get your hands on it!
Achieving the pinnacle of
success in network marketing begins with building a solid foundation based on
skills and competence.
In my experience, finding a
network marketing skill development program is like unlocking the keys to
network marketing success and finding a treasure chest full of gold.
Unfortunately not everyone
discovers gold, but with a road map of priceless clues you can open the
treasure chest and discover that network marketing skill development is in fact
the foundation of network marketing success.
As a network marketing
professional and coach, I have seen people start out on a network marketing
career wide eyed with expectation about what this industry has to offer, their
dreams are big and they are filled with enthusiasm. But somehow the success
they dream about just never seems to happen and it becomes as elusive as that
pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
So why do network marketers
find themselves in this situation?
Simple answer………
They either don't have a system or they don’t follow a network marketing skill development program in
the first place or the system/process that forms the foundation of their
business is not rock solid. In other words, it is not built on skills and
competence and therefore doesn't contain the FOUR ESSENTIAL BUILDING BLOCKS of
a network marketing success system!

Achieving the pinnacle of
success in network marketing begins with building a solid foundation based on
skills and competence.
So what are the four
essential building blocks of a network marketing success system?

SKILL DEVELOPMENT! It's a very general term and can apply to a lot of
areas. The problem is it's not used much in network marketing, which is one of
the reasons why people often don't see the connection between building a
network marketing business and building a business using other business models.
For some strange reason
there seems to be this little myth that gets passed on from person to person
within the industry that somehow network marketing is different from other
business models - it has a unique character all of its own and its only the
"special people" who truly "get this" that succeed!
So I ask myself:Why is it that some people
who join network marketing think they don't need to access skill development,
career planning, leadership development or coaching programs specific to the
industry in order to achieve their business goals?
Why is it that a great
number of network marketing leaders think they don't need to support their new
business associates with programs specific to the industry and to their company
- programs based on skill development, career planning, leadership development
and coaching which are fundamental to business success no matter what industry
you work in?
Why there
is a popular misconception that anyone joining network marketing only needs to
talk to every person that comes within 3 foot of them about their products and
their business and the riches will come pouring in?
Well, sadly I think many
network marketers find themselves victims of this "old school"
approach to industry success because of the way the network marketing industry
evolved over time.
However I am pleased to say
that there seems to be a ground swell for change. Some network marketing
companies and independent network marketing leaders are moving away from this
old school of thought. They understand that network marketing success is based
on the success principles used in business generally.
So why is skill
development so important?
Well the way I see it………every
industry has specific knowledge and skill sets that people who work in that
industry should be able to perform to a level of competence!
So think about that………how do
YOU know what you need to be able to do and to what standard in order that you
might achieve the success you truly desire in your network marketing business?
Consider these questions:
If you don't know what you
need to be able to do then how are you going to do it?
If you know the things you
need to do but can't do them because you are just not sure how, is your
business going to be successful?
If you know the things you
need to do but can only do them with guidance and support, what happens if your
helper is not around?
If you know the things you
need to do and can do them competently on your own, then what would this mean
for your business success?
Let's take this a step
further………
Imagine you are brand new to network marketing………maybe you are brand
new, in which case you won't have to imagine too much, you are living it right
now!
You have decided you
want to start a network marketing business. What network marketing fundamentals
should you be aware of, what do you need to know and be able to do to get your
business off the ground?
Your overall skill
development is contingent on you being able to identify the knowledge and
skills you need to build your business. A competency framework should help you
to identify the information you need to know and the skills you must be able to
perform competently. This information is important just to get your business
off base one but is equally vital for your long term business success.
Think about this………
You don't know what you
don't know………right
Yes, that's right!
So if you are new to
network marketing you will need to access some skill development - that's for
sure. No matter how many skills you bring with you to this new venture you will
need to learn SOME new stuff. So you need to find out what that is exactly!
The only way you are going to do this effectively and not just rely on
what you hear on the grapevine, is to follow a skill development program or system
which clearly defines the skills you need to be able to perform competently.

systems and processes do you need to have in place and be able to use so you
are organized and make best use of the time available to you to build your
business?
Resources - what network
marketing tools and resources do you need to be familiar with and know how to
use to get your business going?
Branding
YOUR business - remember you are in business for yourself, even though you represent
your network marketing company. So what's unique about what YOU have to offer
your prospective customers and business associates? How are you going to set
about letting people know who you are and what you offer in your business -
what's Your USP - Your Unique Selling Proposition?
There are tons more, but
this is just to give you an idea………
Before I go any further I
want to be sure you are clear on what I mean by competence.
Are you crystal clear………?
Your understanding of how
competence relates to a network marketing skill development program is pivotal
to your short and long term business success.
If you are competent in a
particular skill it means you can perform that skill to a required standard, on
your own, without help and be able to do this on an ongoing basis. This will make
you self sufficient.
So that's what you want of
course in order to achieve your network marketing business growth goals.
In your network
marketing business you need to be aware of the skills and knowledge required at
each level of your career. Without skills you’ll
end up with nothing. Focus on skills, become better on inviting, master the follow up system, and get better in handling objections and enrolling prospects. If you don’t learn these skills, how are you going to keep up with
those that master them? How your team is going to duplicate what you do? Do you have a step by step process for your new people to follow or you are going to tell them to pitch your opportunity as

The Power of Duplication in Network Marketing
Network marketing is a
duplication business. It is a simple business where average people can create above
average income. To be successful There must be a good duplication process in place
so that everyone in the network, regardless
of his or her educational background, experience, and geographical location, new
or old, would be able to follow the system and do the same thing in a simple
way.
In order to be effective the
duplication process need the have the following criteria:
1. There must be a SYSTEM.
This will enable everyone in
the organization to follow the pattern of success, which all the leaders have
gone through. This will be especially useful for new people since they will
have a track to run on.
2. The system must be SIMPLE
to follow.
This is important because
there will be people in the network with different educational background,
financial standing, experience, EQ and IQ. In order to build a huge
organization it is crucial that everyone in the network will be able to follow
the system.
3. The system must be the
SAME everywhere.
Regardless of the country or
geographical location, the system must be the same everywhere. This uniformity
is important to ensure the smooth running of the business and the identity of
the organization.

McDonald’s logo and business set up are different in different places? This
will surely lead to confusion.

27 Key Questions for Targeted Networking Leads
When you spend good money for targeted networking leads,
you'd better find out what makes them tick.
Talk to them, and find out
what is important to them about a "work from home" opportunity. Ask
the right questions, and every prospect will tell you exactly what they want.
You need to know the nature
of your prospect with regard to networking - those emotional aspects that would
respond best to your presentation. Become an expert on your prospect.
Be a good
listener. Talk to your prospects and those who know and have dealt with them.
Someplace in there you'll find the reasons that the prospect will join your
team.
What are their motivations?
What exactly are they looking
for in a network marketing opportunity?
What are their conditions of
satisfaction - what do they absolutely have to have in order for them to make
this choice?
Find out their history.
Choose from the following questions:
1. What kind of work do you
do?
2. How many hours a week do
you work?
3. What do you LOVE about
your job?
4. What do you HATE about
your job?
5. What are you really good
at?
6. What will happen if you
don't set up a strong, stable extra income?
7. What do you do with your
free time?
8. What is the most fun
thing you do in a normal day?
9. What would be your ideal
way to make a living?
10. How do you see yourself
being successful in a home business?
11. Is there any particular
kind of opportunity that appeals to you most?
12. When you're working, do
you feel a need to be around people, or would you just as soon be by yourself?
13. If you had 2 months’ vacation
and all the money you wanted, what would you do?
14. How do you like the people
you work with?
15. What problem scares you
to death that more money could solve?
16. If you had all the money
you needed, what HUGE problem would go away?
17. When you find an
opportunity that really meets your criteria, how many hours a week could you
put into it?
18. If you had all the TIME
in the world to do anything you wanted, what would you do?
19. Other than money, what
are you looking for?
20. How does your family fit
into your home business picture?
21. What do you want for
your own personal growth?
22. What you want to accomplish
in your lifetime?
23. What could be lurking in
the background that could prevent you from following through on starting your
own business?
24. What would it mean to you
to help others change their lives?
25. What really excites you
in life?
26. What REALLY makes you
angry about your life?
27. What really, really gets
you emotional?
You'll never use all these
questions in one conversation. But depending on how it goes, you can pick and
choose different questions from this list. The longer you talk to a prospect,
the more you understand which questions you really want that person to answer.
And the longer you talk to
targeted networking leads, the better you'll get at building relationships with
them.
Once you gather this
information, you'll have a sense of their emotional needs. The idea is to
present to them and be able to match their nature to the nature of your team.
Someplace in these emotional
needs, you'll find the prospect's main motivation. And that will give you all
the clues you need to get into your prospect's heart and soul and convert them
to a productive, successful member of your team.
